Juvelook & Lenisna
at The Axis Clinic in London
Juvelook and Lenisna are PDLLA biostimulators. Instead of filling a line or a hollow, they prompt your skin to rebuild its own collagen and supporting tissue. At The Axis Clinic we use them as part of our regenerative treatment programme: Juvelook to refresh tired under-eyes without filler, and Lenisna to restore lost volume in the cheeks, temples and lower face. The results build gradually and look like you on a good day.

Two biostimulators, one regenerative philosophy
Both products are made in Korea by VAIM and are now used in more than 65 countries. Each combines two ingredients. PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) is a biodegradable polymer that triggers long-term biostimulation. Hyaluronic acid gives the skin an early lift in hydration while the collagen response gets going. The PDLLA is engineered as porous microspheres in two particle sizes, which is what lets us place each product at a different depth for a different job.
Juvelook
A skin-quality biostimulator for the dermis. Juvelook improves firmness, texture and crepiness, softens fine lines and helps remodel atrophic scars. It is our first choice for the delicate under-eye area.

AFTERWhere we use Juvelook and Lenisna
Every plan is mapped to your face at consultation. Many patients have both products in the same course.
Regeneration you build over time
Juvelook and Lenisna are bio-interactive. Once injected, the PDLLA particles talk to the cells already in your skin and switch on a repair response. That is why results arrive gradually and look natural.
Immediate hydration
The hyaluronic acid draws in water, so skin looks plumper and more hydrated within days. This early effect fades as the HA is naturally absorbed.
Cellular signalling
The PDLLA microspheres interact with macrophages, the skin’s repair coordinators, moving them into a regenerative mode. They release growth factors that wake up fibroblasts and support new blood supply.
Collagen and volume restoration
Over the following 8 to 12 weeks, fibroblasts lay down new collagen and elastin in the dermis. In the deeper layer, Lenisna also supports the regeneration of the fatty tissue that holds up the face. The particles then biodegrade.
The right product at the right depth
Ageing happens in layers. The skin thins and loses collagen, and underneath it the fat pads that hold up the cheeks and temples shrink and slide. A single product rarely fixes both. Juvelook works on the dermis, where skin quality lives. Lenisna works deeper, in the subcutaneous tissue that gives structure and volume. Using both lets us treat the whole picture.
A regenerative alternative to under-eye filler
Under-eye hollows, crepey skin and a visible tear trough are among the most common reasons people come to see us. Traditional tear trough filler can work beautifully in the right patient, but in thin under-eye skin it can also cause puffiness, a bluish tint or a heavy, overfilled look.
Juvelook is our go-to for this area. Rather than adding a gel, it strengthens and thickens the under-eye skin itself, so the hollow softens and the skin looks smoother, less crepey and better supported.
- Improves under-eye skin thickness, texture and fine lines
- Softens the tear trough with a natural, gradual result
- Lower risk of the swelling and puffiness linked to filler
- Pairs well with our laser eye rejuvenation protocols

Volume restoration that still looks like you
As we age, the fat pads in the cheeks and temples shrink, the midface flattens and the lower face starts to sag into nasolabial folds and jowls. Lenisna restores that lost volume by stimulating your own collagen and supporting tissue, so contours return slowly and naturally rather than all at once.

Rebuilding scars from underneath
Rolling and atrophic acne scars sit lower than the surrounding skin because fibrous bands tether them down and the collagen beneath has been lost. Lasers resurface from the top. Juvelook and Lenisna rebuild from below.
At The Axis Clinic we combine biostimulators with subcision, a technique where a fine cannula or needle is used to release the bands holding the scar down. We then place Juvelook, or Lenisna for deeper scars, into the released space so new collagen fills it in and helps stop the scar re-tethering. Many patients then go on to fractional laser or Morpheus8 to refine the surface.

Combined with our laser and skin tightening suite
Biostimulators rebuild from within. Energy devices tighten, resurface and even out tone. Combining them, in the right order and at the right intervals, is where our regenerative results come from. This layered planning is what we call AxisStax.
Juvelook + laser
Juvelook for under-eye skin thickness and hollows, combined with CO2 laser, LaseMD Ultra, Pico laser or BBL/IPL to treat crepey texture, fine lines and pigmentation around the eyes.
Biostimulators + RF
Lenisna and Juvelook paired with Morpheus8 or XERF radiofrequency skin tightening, for laxity in the lower face, jawline and neck alongside restored volume.
Subcision + resurfacing
Subcision and biostimulator to lift tethered scars from below, followed by CO2 laser, LaseMD Ultra, Pico laser or Morpheus8 to smooth the surface.
What a course looks like
Consultation and mapping
A doctor-led assessment of your skin quality, volume and goals. We decide whether you need Juvelook, Lenisna or both, and whether lasers or skin tightening should be part of the plan.
Your course
Juvelook: 1 to 3 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart. Lenisna: 2 to 3 sessions, 8 weeks apart. The gaps give new collagen time to build. For 24 to 48 hours around each session, avoid blood thinners (if medically safe), heat, alcohol and strenuous exercise.
Maintenance
Results keep improving for weeks after your last session and last from months to years. Maintenance is every 12 to 18 months for Juvelook and every 18 to 24 months for Lenisna.
Frequently asked questions
Juvelook and Lenisna are injectable PDLLA biostimulators made in Korea by VAIM. Each combines PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid), a biodegradable polymer that stimulates your own collagen, with hyaluronic acid for early hydration. Juvelook is a fine-particle product for skin quality in the dermis. Lenisna is a larger-particle product placed deeper, in the subcutaneous layer, for volume restoration and contour.
No. Juvelook and Lenisna are not traditional dermal fillers. A hyaluronic acid filler adds volume straight away by filling a space with gel. Juvelook and Lenisna are regenerative injectables, also called biostimulators: they stimulate your skin to produce its own collagen, so results build gradually over the following weeks and look natural. Their small amount of hyaluronic acid gives early hydration, but the lasting result comes from your own tissue.
They belong to the same family as other regenerative injectables based on polylactic acid. Sculptra (by Galderma) is the original poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator and has been used for many years to restore facial volume gradually. Julaine (by Nordberg Medical) is a newer PLLA biostimulator for gradual facial volume and skin quality. Lanluma (by Sinclair) is a PLLA biostimulator used for the face and, in particular, the body, such as the buttocks, thighs and arms.
What sets Juvelook and Lenisna apart is their PDLLA, engineered in two particle sizes and combined with hyaluronic acid. This lets us treat delicate areas such as the under-eyes as well as deeper volume loss. At your consultation we will recommend the regenerative injectable that best suits your skin and goals.
The under-eye area. Juvelook is our most frequent choice for hollow, crepey or tired-looking under-eyes, where it improves skin thickness and softens the tear trough without the need for under-eye filler. We also use it widely for acne scars, fine lines around the eyes and mouth, crepey neck skin and the backs of the hands.
For many people, yes. Under-eye skin is thin and the area is prone to swelling, so hyaluronic acid filler can sometimes look puffy, heavy or slightly blue (the Tyndall effect). Juvelook works differently: it strengthens the skin and stimulates collagen, so the improvement is gradual and natural. If you have significant volume loss or deep hollows, we will talk you through whether Juvelook alone, a combination, or another option is right for you.
Lenisna is used for volume restoration and contour. At The Axis Clinic we most often use it for the cheeks and midface, the temples, the lateral face, nasolabial folds and marionette lines, and the chin and jawline. It restores lost support gradually, so the face looks refreshed rather than filled.
Particle size, dose and depth. Juvelook has 25 µm PDLLA particles and works in the deep dermis to refine and tighten the skin. Lenisna has 40 µm particles at a higher dose and works in the subcutaneous layer to contour and lift. Many patients benefit from both: Lenisna for structure and Juvelook for skin quality on top.
Yes, and this is one of our signature combinations. Juvelook improves under-eye hollows and skin thickness from within, while laser treats the surface. Depending on your skin, we pair it with CO2 laser or LaseMD Ultra for crepey texture and fine lines, Pico laser for skin rejuvenation and pigmentation, or BBL/IPL for redness, dark circles linked to pigment and overall tone. We plan the order and spacing of each treatment for you.
Yes. Radiofrequency devices such as Morpheus8 and XERF tighten skin and stimulate collagen using heat, while Juvelook and Lenisna restore volume and skin quality from the inside. Together they address tightening, lifting and volume restoration in one plan. This layered approach, which we call AxisStax, is how we treat laxity in the lower face, jawline and neck. We also combine biostimulators with CO2 laser, LaseMD Ultra, BBL/IPL and Pico laser for skin rejuvenation.
Yes. Juvelook is very effective for rolling and atrophic acne scars. For tethered scars we combine it with subcision, a technique that releases the fibrous bands pulling the scar down, then place Juvelook (or Lenisna for deeper scars) into the released area to rebuild collagen beneath it. We often follow this with CO2 laser, LaseMD Ultra, Pico laser or Morpheus8 to smooth the surface. We use the same approach for some surgical and traumatic scars and for stretch marks.
It depends on the product and on your skin. For Juvelook, the initial course is 1 to 3 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, with a maintenance session every 12 to 18 months. For Lenisna, the initial course is 2 to 3 sessions, spaced 8 weeks apart, with maintenance every 18 to 24 months. If you are having both, we plan the sessions so they fit together, and we confirm your exact course at consultation.
Juvelook and Lenisna both combine PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) with hyaluronic acid. PDLLA stimulates your own collagen production to improve skin quality, firmness and structure over time. Hyaluronic acid adds hydration and a little early plumping while that collagen response builds. You get a fresher look soon after treatment, followed by longer-term regeneration.
Improvement is gradual. You may notice a little extra hydration within days, and the collagen-driven change becomes visible over the following weeks, continuing to build after your last session. The long-term effects last from months to years, depending on the product, your age, skin quality and lifestyle. Maintenance sessions (every 12 to 18 months for Juvelook, every 18 to 24 months for Lenisna) help keep your results going.
Downtime is minimal. You may have small bumps, redness or mild swelling at the injection points for 1 to 3 days, and bruising is possible, particularly under the eyes. Most people return to work the same or the next day.
For 24 to 48 hours before and after your treatment, avoid blood-thinning medications (where it is medically safe to stop them; check with us or your GP first), excessive heat such as saunas, steam rooms and hot baths, alcohol and strenuous exercise. This reduces the risk of bruising and swelling. Always follow the specific instructions your practitioner gives you on the day.
Most patients rate it around 3 out of 10. We apply numbing cream beforehand, and the product is mixed with local anaesthetic (lidocaine) to keep the treatment comfortable.
PDLLA is a well-established biodegradable material, and the hyaluronic acid component is naturally absorbed. The PDLLA particles are engineered to break down evenly over time. As with any injectable, side effects can include swelling, bruising, tenderness and, rarely, small nodules, which is why technique, dilution and placement matter. All treatments at The Axis Clinic follow a medical consultation and are carried out under doctor-led protocols. Unlike HA filler, the PDLLA component cannot be dissolved, so careful planning is essential.
Adults who want gradual, natural-looking improvement in skin quality, under-eye hollows, volume loss or acne scarring. These treatments are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you have an active skin infection in the area, or with certain autoimmune conditions or a history of keloid scarring. We will go through your medical history at consultation.
Juvelook and Lenisna start from £375 per session. Because many patients have a course, and many combine biostimulators with laser or skin tightening, we give you a full, personalised price at your consultation.
