Things to avoid before Botox:

• Avoid drinking alcohol at least 24 hours before treatment to avoid an increased risk of bruising.
• Reschedule your appointment if you notice any rashes, sores, or blemishes on or near the treatment area.
• Avoid blood thinners if at all possible, as frequent use of NSAID and other blood thinners can increase your risk of bruising.

Things to avoid after Botox:

• For optimal results, avoid strenuous exercise or activity for at approximately 24 hours after your treatment to prevent the Botox from migrating to another area.
• Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area to prevent the Botox from migrating to another area.
• Avoid applying makeup and similar products until any swelling or irritation has gone away.
• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours post treatment

There is not significant evidence to suggest that these treatments are harmful, but we choose to err on the side of caution with our patients to ensure their well-being and the safety of their children.
